Mark B. Fisher

Mark B. Fisher, Founder and Managing Member of MBF Asset Management, has over thirty years of experience in the investment industry. Fisher has been an avid student of financial market dynamics, getting an early start as a “runner” on the COMEX floor at the age of 12. While remaining an active trader, Fisher attended the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania, graduating summa cum laude and continuing on to receive his master’s degree in Finance and Accounting in five years as a part of Wharton’s submatriculation program. At age 21, Fisher became the youngest trader ever in the silver futures pit.

Fisher spent many years trading successfully before founding MBF Clearing Corp., a futures commission merchant which has taken a preeminent role within the global futures markets. MBF Clearing Corp. is particularly well-known for supporting a significant number of professional floor traders, “upstairs” fund managers, and boutique trading firms, including Fisher’s own proprietary trading group, which is comprised of a team of 75+ traders and quantitative analysts.

The combination of Fisher’s extensive trading experience and his ground-breaking research resulted in the development of the ACD Method: a unique and highly disciplined approach to trading virtually any market. In 2002, Fisher published The Logical Trader: Applying a Method to the Madness, a book which details his ACD trading method and has been well-received across the globe.

More recently, Fisher used his knowledge of commodities markets to develop the MBF Alpha Commodities Index (MACI), which diminishes the volatility of rolling commodities forward. The MACI provides a real-time benchmark that mitigates the effects of contango and backwardation.

Off Wall Street, Fisher is well known for his philanthropic efforts and dedication to a number of important charities and civic organizations. He plays a guiding role for the Long Island Lightning Basketball Organization, a non-profit organization dedicated to the development of youth-oriented sports. Consistent with Fisher’s commitment to giving back, MBF administers one of the largest internship programs on Wall Street. Throughout this distinctive learning program, Fisher personally conducts daily teaching sessions, after which interns work with and learn from members of the MBF team.
